Jackson Roper reported an offer from Alabama football after impressing the Crimson Tide’s coaching staff at camp.
Roper attends Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado, and he holds previous offers from Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.
Multiple programs extended an offer to the 2027 recruit after he impressed at camp in June, but earning an offer from Alabama felt different.
“I’ve been fortunate this camp season and have received several offers from top SEC schools,” Roper told Touchdown Alabama. “This one is unique for a few different reasons. My father had the opportunity to play against Alabama back in 2004. I grew up listening to him talk about that experience. Couple that with the success Alabama’s had and it’s hard not to get excited.”
Roper admires the way Kalen DeBoer has managed to step into the role as the head man in Tuscaloosa while keeping the Alabama football culture intact.
“It’s been great to see how coach DeBoer has stepped up and put his stamp on the program while keeping the culture that is Alabama football,” Roper said. “He’s had some early successes that I believe will keep the train rolling.”
At 6-foot-5 and 292 pounds, Roper lines up at guard on the offensive side of the football and spends time at nose tackle on defense. His balance and physicality have coaches excited about his potential as an offensive lineman at the next level.
“I like to believe I am a well-rounded player at this point, but there are a few parts of my game that coaches like to point out,” said Roper. “They talk about my balance and my patience. They say I’m extremely physical at the point of contact. They also think I show good mobility and footwork throughout the play. I believe these are a few traits that have set me apart this camp season.”
