Colorado Adds Big Ten Offensive Lineman in Transfer Portal

Lovelace, who has spent time at USC and Northwestern, announced he would be heading to Boulder for his final season. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound lineman brings experience to a Colorado unit that has seen significant turnover, including the recent departure of All-American lineman Cash Cleveland.

Lovelace’s college football journey began in 2019 at the junior college level, where he redshirted his first season. He lost his 2020 campaign due to COVID-19 before transferring to USC, where he appeared in games during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Lovelace moved on to Northwestern, where he played in 11 games in 2024 and allowed just one sack.

His decision to leave Northwestern came after the Wildcats added four offensive linemen via the portal this offseason, likely crowding the position group. Following spring practices, Lovelace opted to seek out a more defined role for his final year and entered the transfer portal.

Colorado is in need of reinforcements up front. Lovelace's physical presence and experience at the Power Four level could provide a boost for a Buffaloes offense looking to take a step forward under Sanders this year.
