Colorado loses five players to transfer portal after spring game

Deion Sanders promised change at Colorado, and he also opened the door wide open for existing players to leave via the transfer portal.

With the deadline for players to enter the transfer portal quickly approaching (May 11), it seems as if a handful of players have taken Sanders' invitation to leave Colorado. Ironically, though, they've done so just days after Colorado's spring game.

Speaking of, the biggest name in the exodus is starting wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig, who starred in Colorado's spring game with 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns to his name. 

If there was a breakout candidate previously on the Buffs' roster, it would have been Lemonious-Craig, who had notched 359 yards and three touchdowns for last season's 1-11 squad.

"I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the entire University of Colorado community for the incredible opportunity I have had attending this esteemed institution in Boulder, Colorado," Lemonious-Craig wrote on Twitter. "During the course of my time at the University of Colorado, I have been fortunate to cross paths with many remarkable individuals who have played a significant role in my journey."
