Ohio State's Davison Igbinosun is one of the more intriguing cornerback prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft, with an impressive blend of size and athleticism that gives him tons of potential at the next level. That upside alone should be enough to make him a lock to come off the board at some point on Day 2.

Davison Igbinosun's Strengths

Big and competitive, Igbinosun brings ideal physical traits to the position, and he knows it. He’s not afraid to get in a receiver’s face at the line of scrimmage, using his size and length to challenge their releases and immediately disrupt the route. He plays every rep with constant physicality from start to finish, and he uses his wingspan to frustrate receivers at the catch point on 50/50 balls. He’s got the speed and fluidity to flip his hips and stay connected to his assignment on deep balls, and his football IQ shines through in how quickly he’s able to diagnose route concepts and break on the ball. His physical playing style shows up in the run game, too, where he’s effective at shedding blocks and making tackles on the perimeter.

Davison Igbinosun's Weaknesses

As is the case for most college corners who love to play a physical brand of football, Igbinosun will have to rein in his usual level of contact if he wants to avoid frequent penalties from NFL officials. He’s much more comfortable in press than off coverage, as he can be too quick to pick a direction and open up his frame instead of staying patient and leaving his alignment neutral until the route breaks. When receivers sell go routes and break them off, Igbinosun’s footwork can be a bit muddy as he transitions to come back downhill, giving the receiver too much separation. 

Final Analysis

He could use a couple of technical tweaks, and he’ll have to be more careful about his physicality downfield, but Igbinosun brings an intriguing blend of physical and mental tools to a premium position. His experience against top competition doesn’t hurt either, and any defense that loves to play a ton of press-man coverage should target him in the Day 2 range.
