Alabama football returns to action Saturday to face off against the Georgia Bulldogs on the road.

The Bulldogs will enter the game 3-0 after a BYE week while the Crimson Tide will have one loss next to their name following their off week.

The last time the Bulldogs were in action, they picked up a big win in overtime against Tennessee on the road. The Vols jumped out early on the Bulldogs and led 21-7 at the end of the first quarter. Georgia continued to fight in this one en route to ultimately taking home the victory.

The fight the Bulldogs displayed is what stood out to Alabama football’s head coach Kalen DeBoer while he reviewed the game.

“Just competing until the very end, and that’s what we saw a year ago, and that’s what you’re going to expect to see every time they step on the football field,” DeBoer said during the SEC Coaches Teleconference. “So, no matter what the scoreboard said, there’s a high level of competition happening and just playing that play and only that play.”

Gunner Stockton had one of his best showings against the Vols. The Alabama head coach expressed his thoughts on the Georgia quarterback last week.

“I think he’s played some big games and just a short amount of time when you look at the end of last year, this last week in particular,” DeBoer said. “He’s done a nice job just managing the offense and then making plays when he needs to, throwing the ball down the field, finding his matchups and then keeping plays alive with his feet. He really, I think, adds a dimension to their offense because of that. So, I think they’re doing a good job utilizing his skill set and the offensive personnel that are around him and that’s a credit to Georgia’s staff.”

A lot of eyes will be on the Alabama-Georgia game on Saturday.
