Deion Sanders Admits Private Struggle in Emotional Video

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders revealed that he was forced to make a will back in May amid a serious health scare, a decision made as uncertainty crept over what lay ahead.

In a video shared via his son Deion Jr., Sanders choked up recounting how writing a will “was not easy at all” but became necessary when he feared the worst, a stark admission from a man known for swagger and positivity.

Sanders has remained out of sight since April, recuperating at his Texas residence and missing key spring and summer team activities. Though brief video updates show him stepping into ice baths, walking, shooting hoops, and playing tennis, he admitted back then, “I ain’t all the way recovered.” That line suggests the road back may not be short.

Monday marks Sanders’ first scheduled press conference of fall camp, and it comes with his medical team in tow. CU Anschutz doctors will join him as fans await clarity on the severity of his condition and whether it’s linked to his documented history of blood clots and toe amputations.

Once an NFL icon whose charisma helped resuscitate the Buffaloes, Sanders now finds himself at a crossroads. His emotional transparency may deepen fan support, but it raises questions about his readiness to resume the sideline leadership that fueled Colorado’s rise.

With the Buffs set to open the season Aug. 29 against Georgia Tech, this conference isn’t just about roster updates; it’s about whether “Coach Prime” returns fully to fulfill his vision or remains sidelined by health concerns. Either way, the narrative has shifted from wins and Buffaloes to will and wellness.
