Deion Sanders Sends 3-Word Message After Major Colorado Announcement

It may feel like a distant memory at this point, but before Deion Sanders took over as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, the program was far from relevant or successful in recent years.

However, the Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback took a program that went 1-11 in 2022 under Karl Dorrell, to a 9-4 record this past season. A mark that was the team's best record since 2016, and also the first time they finished the season ranked in the College Football Playoff rankings since that same year.

While Sanders was one of the most popular athletes on the planet during his NFL and MLB careers, his popularity may have transcended even higher now that he's a coach. According to a release by the school, the Buffs averaged three million viewers per game, ranking No. 6 in college football in total viewership with 46.32 million.

In addition to drawing eyeballs to the program, Sanders' impact also generated $146.6 million in revenue for the school, which, according to USA TODAY, is a record. However, while all of these data points show just how popular Sanders' program is around the country, a recent announcement shows that he has as much support from Colorado fans as any coach ever has before.

As announced by the program earlier this week, the Buffs have sold out their season tickets ahead of the 2025 season. This officially marks the third time in Sanders' three-year tenure that it's happened. In addition to that already impressive feat, the program hadn't sold out its season ticket allotment since 1996.

Sanders took to X on Saturday to express his gratitude for the support.

"Thank U Jesus," Sanders exclaimed.

Colorado fans will be treated to a fun game right of the gates in 2025, as the Buffs will open the season against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Game will take place on Friday, Aug. 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET, and air on ESPN.
