While there may be wide-ranging views on Deion Sanders and how he goes about his business, one thing you can't say is that he doesn't love his kids.
After going through a traumatic health scare of his own, Coach Prime made sure to support one of his now former players after they decided to step away from football following a serious concussion — making sure that their scholarship continues even if they won't be suiting up for the Buffs anymore.
On Tuesday, senior running back Charlie Offerdahl stood in front of the team and revealed that he's retiring due to the numerous head injuries he's sustained and that he'll now be pursuing a dental degree.
Offerdahl, a former walk-on, earned a scholarship in Sanders' first year at CU; and Coach Prime will see to it that that continues.
"I love him, he deserves it," Deion said as he gave Charlie a hug. "I wish to God that we just had 11 players with what he has inside of him and what makes him who he is. ... Charlie never had a bad day. Always came to work, came to play and [he was] raised wonderfully. I love you man and I appreciate you, OK. We're gonna take care of you."

Fans were loving the thoughtful gesture on X:
"I can't love this man enough. I really can't," a user said.
"Everyone can hate on Prime all they want but no one can deny what he does for every single player on his team," another commented. "This dude is changing lives and setting paths for these kids futures while damn near every other coach out there is just looking for that next bowl win and nothing else."
"Damn.. loved Charlie. Wishing nothing but the best going forward. Great young man. He gonna be great at whatever he does," a fan replied.
"Very touching, seems like a really good dude," another person shared. "I'm betting he becomes one of the best dentists around "
Offerdahl finishes his CFB career with 65 carries, 340 yards from scrimmage and a rushing touchdown against rival Utah. But he got every ounce out of his ability as a zero-star recruit and seems to have a very bright future ahead of him.
