The College Football Playoff national title game takes place on Monday, January 20 between No. 8 seed Ohio State and No. 7 Notre Dame.
On Wednesday, ESPN released their All-American team for the 2024 season, and there are a ton of obvious names on there.
Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Arizona State RB Cam Skattebo made the first team.
Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, who won the Heisman Trophy, was listed on the first-team as all-purpose.
However, there was one big snub with Miami (FL) quarterback Cam Ward being chosen over Colorado's Shedeur Sanders.
Ward received first-team honors and Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel received second-team honors.
Here are the side-by-side numbers for the three quarterbacks, and Sanders had more years and touchdowns than Gabriel and was right behind Ward in both categories.
The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and the debate is beginning on whether or not they will select Ward, Sanders, or Hunter.
For quite some time, Sanders was the far-and-away favorite to be the first QB taken in the draft, although Ward has slowly begun to sneak into those conversations.
Nonetheless, Sanders was not on the first or second-team All-American list by ESPN despite having a monster season for Colorado, and there is a chance he is the first QB taken in April.
