Everyone Made Same Joke About Bret Bielema, Shane Beamer's Incident

It was a battle of overachievers in the Citrus Bowl today as South Carolina battled Illinois. But while Illinois went on to win that game 21-17, it was the coaches who really made waves.

South Carolina's Shane Beamer and Illinois' Bret Bielma were about as animated on the sidelines as their players were on the field, and it made for some pretty fun scenes.

At one point during the third quarter, Bielema appeared to taunt Beamer and the South Carolina sideline while a player was down. While we don't know the exact cause, Beamer seemed to go into a frenzy, requiring multiple assistants to hold him back from going after Bielma. The scene of Beamer being held back by an assistant made people recall that iconic "Woman yelling at a cat" meme. See for yourself:

Some have noted that the image of Bielma smiling at Beamer may have been taken several minutes after Beamer was restrained by his assistants, throwing some doubt onto the cause of the incident.

But it's still a darn funny scene and fans in the comments just plain loved it:

"Sometimes life imitates art to perfection," one user replied.

"As an impartial viewer of this football match, I can objectively say that this wins the Internet; and we can now shut the whole thing down. Real life has become a parody of the Internet," another declared.

"Post game should be epic," a third wrote.

Fans hoping for a tense postgame handshake got their wish as the two of them made a handshake so quick and uninterested that it would put the one between Bill Belichick and Eric Mangini to shame.

The game itself was slow but tense as the two sides changed leads six times. Ultimately it was Illinois running back Josh McCray who had the biggest impact, rushing for 114 yards and two touchdowns against the Gamecocks' No. 12 ranked defense.

With the win, Illinois enjoyed their first 10-win season since 2001, while South Carolina's hopes of making a compelling argument for being in the College Football Playoff goes down the drain.
