The Washington football program gained its 11th transfer portal addition Sunday morning from Florida International graduate safety CJ Christian

Listed at 6-foot-1, 196-pounds, the Illinois native gives Huskies' coach Jedd Fisch and safeties coach Vinnie Sunseri another veteran at the position to pair with Northern Arizona transfer Alex McLaughlin.

Christian recorded 151 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 5 interceptions over his three-year career at FIU after he began his college football journey at Iowa Central Community College, the same Juco as UW junior left tackle Max McCree.

Christian reportedly took an official visit to California after checking out UW on Friday but still elected to pick the Big Ten program and continue a strong run of form on the recruiting trail for Fisch and Co.

With two safeties out of eligibility after this season, Kamren Fabiculanan and Cameron Broussard, the Huskies needed to replenish the position with a pair of players with starting experience to help bridge the gap with the rising underclassmen, namely freshman Peyton Waters and redshirt freshman Vince Holmes.

Christian joins defensive transfer additions Simote Pepa, Anterio Thompson and Ta'ita'i Uiagalelei (defensive line), Jacob Manu and Xe'Ree Alexander (linebacker) and McLaughlin (safety), along with long snapper Ryan Kean and three offensive transfers; Carver Willis, Geirean Hatchett and Kade Eldridge.
