The University of Washington football coaches and players simply call him Ty Ty. Wouldn't you after taking one look at that multi-syllabic, full-of-apostrophes name of his -- Ta'ita'i Uiagalelei -- and not wanting to trip over it?
He has a name that's difficult to spell, at least on the first attempt, but the University of Washington coaching staff would gladly welcome jotting down Ta'ita'i Uiagalelei on a few more lineup cards beyond this season.
Wearing No. 11 and lining up all over the place on defense, Ta'ita'i Uiagalelei in some ways resembles the departed Alphonzo Tuputala, only 50 pounds heavier.
Face it, the previous guy who wore No. 11 on defense for the University of Washington football team had a name that was a whole lot easier to pronounce than the newcomer who fills out that jersey now.
