Florida Gators stay red hot on recruiting trail, landing a commitment from top prospect from the other side of the country

The Florida Gators are on an incredible recruiting hot streak right now.

On Sunday afternoon, head coach Billy Napier secured the commitments from three-star offensive lineman  Chancellor Campbell and four-star wide receiver Justin Williams. To pair with them, four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy is making another visit to Gainesville this weekend after cancelling on Texas.

That hot streak has continued on Monday night when they secured the commitment of three-star tight end Kekua Aumua.

Aumua, affectionately known as "Rhino," is the 37th-ranked tight end in the country per the On3 Sports Industry Ranking. He's got the size to excel at 6'6 and 257 lbs. While he hails from Hawaii, Aumua currently plays for IMG Academy, and is the second recruit from the high school in Ocala, Florida, as three-star G'Nivre Carr having already committed earlier this month.

He's got high upside at the position, something that Greg Biggins of 247 Sports highlighted in his scouting report of Aumua.

Aumua was easily among the best college prospects we saw at the Warriors 4 Youth Camp in July. He has an athletic 6-5, 240 pound frame and projects as an every down tight end who can play in any situation. He showed strong hands, uses his frame to box out smaller linebackers and safeties and catches the ball well through contact. He’s a dominant run blocker on tape and can maul opposing linebackers or even edge rushers at the HS level. He’s a physical player with a nice edge in his game and shows the ability to play as an in-line tight end in run heavy situations or move out in the slot and be a focal point of the passing game. His upside is very high and he’s going to be recruited at the high Power 4 level.

The Gators now have seven commitments in the 2026 class, and Napier is on fire.
