Billy Napier and his Florida Gators notch their second big commit of the day, scoring a commitment from four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy out of Tupelo, Mississippi. McCoy was previously committed to play for Brian Kelly at LSU, but decommitted in February.

The 6-foot-6 defensive lineman is ranked as the 163rd recruit nationally and 17th at his position in the class of 2026, according to On3

"Physical gifts are readily apparent on Friday nights," said Charles Power of On3. "Flashes good speed and functional movement skills. Closes to make some impressive plays.

McCoy chose Florida over schools like Texas and Ole Miss, stating that he likes their player development.

“The brotherhood the players have with each other is something I really like," McCoy told On3. "The development system is big for me too. They have guys like Caleb Banks who is going to be a top five pick, so it’s hard not to want to get in a place like that."

McCoy also had high praise for Billy Napier, telling On3 that the coach really sold him on the school during his official visit. McCoy believes that Napier is building something great in Gainesville.

“Coach Napier is taking Florida to a championship,” McCoy told On3. “It’s crazy that I can even be a part of something that he’s building.”

McCoy's commitment adds to a big weekend for Florida, which scored a commitment from four-star wide receiver Marquez Daniel earlier in the day. The two four-stars join a 2026 class for Florida that ranks at the 13th in the country, and sixth in the SEC.
