Alabama is in uncharted waters following week one of the college football season, and not the good kind. For the first time since 2001 the Crimson Tide have begun the season 0-1 following its loss to Florida State and many fans, analysts and former players have been taking aim at head coach Kalen DeBoer.
Former Alabama running back and Heisman Trophy winner, Mark Ingram, was the latest alum to take aim at DeBoer.
Despite being a fan of the hire and DeBoer as a person, his Monday press conference coming off the 31-17 defeat did not sit right with Ingram after being adamant that he still has a good team.
“I love Kalen DeBoer but rip into this team for me please. Rip into your players for me,” said Ingram on the Triple Option podcast. “Coach like, I don’t know man. I don’t love the result and I don’t love the press conference either man. And I’m a fan of Kalen DeBoer, I’m a fan of Alabama. I’m Alabama through and through. Roll Tide through and through but right now the sentiment around our program right now is nobody is extremely excited about what just transpired on Saturday.”
DeBoer is now 5-5 in his last 10 games at Alabama and will need to set things straight and fast to extinguish the flames.
The Crimson Tide are set to welcome ULM to Bryant-Denny Stadium this Saturday with kickoff set for 6:45 pm EST.
