Watson sparks buzz with optimistic post before Packers-Lions
Christian Watson sparks buzz with optimistic 2-word post before Packers-Lions 1 Injured Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson is shown before their game against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, December 29, 2024 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Green Bay Packers will begin their 2025 NFL campaign without wide receiver Christian Watson, who will be unable to see action. Watson is still in the process of getting back to his full form following a devastating knee injury that he suffered late in the 2024 season.

The 26-year-old wideout tore the ACL in his right knee in a Week 18 game against the Chicago Bears in the last campaign, and while he was seen on the field in the offseason, he will be inactive for at least the first four games because of his designation to the team’s reserve/PUP list.

Christian Watson is ready for fourth year in the NFL

A second-round pick by the Packers at the 2022 NFL Draft, Watson is entering contract year with Green Bay, but his injury and the games he’ll miss don’t bode well for his chances to land a big second NFL deal.

That being said, Watson seems excited for what’s ahead of him.

“Year 4 ,” the former North Dakota State Bison star wide receiver shared in a post on Instagram.

That post has also sparked lots of reactions from his teammates and fans.

While Watson is out, Green Bay can count on the like of Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, rookie Matthew Golden and Romeo Doubs to handle the business downfield for the team’s Jordan Love-led passing attack.

Through three seasons in the NFL, Watson has amassed 1,653 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on 98 catches and 172 targets across 38 games.
