Former Oregon wide receiver Jurrion Dickey has officially spoken out after suspension and transfer from the program. The onetime five-star recruit announced that he’s moving on to Diablo Valley College in California, but not before taking a moment to thank the Ducks and their fans for their support.

"I want to take the time out and thank the Oregon community for the incredible support we've received from the very beginning. From the moment we arrived, my family and I were welcomed with open arms, and that kindness has truly let a lasting impact on us. The love, encouragement, and unity of the Duck community will always hold a special place in our hearts," Dickey said.

"We are forever thankful for the way this family has embraced us, and we're excited for all that lies ahead. Your support continues to inspire us everyday, and we'll carry that pride wherever the journey takes us. Thank you from the bottom of our hears and as always, Go Duck Family!" Dickey posted on his X account.

Next chapter

Dickey, one of the highest-rated recruits in Oregon’s 2023 class, never truly found his footing in Eugene. He played in 15 games but recorded just two catches for 14 yards, far from the expectations that came with his five-star status.

Earlier this season, head coach Dan Lanning announced that Dickey had been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. Lanning didn’t go into specifics but said it came down to issues like being “respectful” and “on time,” making it clear that the standard for behavior in his program wouldn’t bend.

Now, Dickey is looking to reset his career. By enrolling at a junior college, he keeps his eligibility and gives himself a chance to rebuild both his game and his reputation. He also revealed that he has already earned a scholarship offer from Sacramento State, showing that interest from four-year schools remains strong despite the setback.

For Oregon, Dickey’s departure closes the book on a recruit once seen as a potential game-changer at wide receiver. For Dickey, it’s a chance at a fresh start - and maybe the beginning of a path back to the level of football many once expected him to reach.
