Four-Star Oklahoma Commit Has Eyes on Big 12 Program

Four-star wideout Daniel Odom, currently committed to Oklahoma, is planning an in-season visit to Colorado.

While he remains pledged to the Sooners, his upcoming trip to Boulder is a clear sign that his recruitment might not be entirely shut down.

“I have Colorado during the season,” Odom said. “I just want to see the atmosphere and see the place and get the experience. I don’t want to look back and say, ‘I could have gone there. That could have been something.” It’s a measured approach, and one that shows Odom is still doing his homework before signing day.

He also mentioned Colorado’s quarterback situation as a key factor. “They have two good quarterbacks down there slinging it, so I want to see how they’re looking.” For a receiver, few things carry more weight than quarterback play, and Odom wants to see how Colorado’s offensive operation runs before making anything final.

Since a recent recruiting showcase, Odom said communication with Colorado has picked up. The Buffs have been calling regularly and working to build a relationship. “They started picking up on recruiting me, calling me every other day or on the weekends, just checking in to make sure I’m good and trying to get me up there,” he said.

While Oklahoma still holds his commitment, the visit to Boulder opens the door for late movement. Whether that trip turns into anything more will depend on what Odom sees once he gets on campus.

For now, the Sooners have to hold their breath while one of their top commits continues to explore his options.
