Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Christen Miller is already making a name for himself ahead of the 2025 college football season after making it on the Outland Trophy watchlist.

The Outland Trophy is awarded annually to the best interior lineman in all of college football. Presented by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), it is one of the most prestigious individual awards for linemen.

The award was established in 1946 and named after John H. Outland, a former two-time All-American lineman and football coach.

During a 2024 season where Georgia saw a lot of ups and downs, Miller stayed steady. He posted a career-high 27 total tackles, including 3.5 for a loss, 1.5 sacks, and one pass deflected, while constantly creating problems in the trenches. Despite being eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft, Miller decided to return for one more ride.

Mille committed to Georgia as a four-star recruit in 2022 out of Cedar Grove High School (Ellenwood, Ga.). He saw action in four games as a redshirt freshman that year. In 2023, Miller jumped into the defensive line rotation where he appeared in 13 games for the Bulldogs, logging 14 total tackles, four tackles for loss, and one sack.

Miller had initially entered the transfer portal in April of 2024, but ultimately backed out and chose to stay in Athens.

And the Bulldogs are definitely glad that he did.
