Coming off their Week 5 loss against Alabama, Kirby Smart’s Georgia returned to winning ways against Kentucky. The Wildcats didn’t stand a chance in the 35-14 one-sided encounter. The No. 12 Bulldogs have improved their record to 4-1. However, the win came at some cost. In his post-game comments, Kirby Smart revealed the injury status of two key offensive linemen: Interior offensive lineman Micah Morris and offensive tackle Monroe Freeling.

Going against Alabama last week, Morris went down with a left leg injury in the second quarter during the second quarter. He headed to the sidelines and bounced back in the third quarter. “Micah is dealing with a hamstring pull from the week before,” Kirby Smart told the media. “He was able to go without… He didn’t get many reps in practice, then his shoulder slipped out. He’s dealing with it, came back.”

On the other hand, Freeling left the game at the end of the first series and did not appear on the field again. “Ankle, don’t know how bad or severe it was,” Smart said of Freeling’s injury post-game. “It was an ankle, he re-taped, tried to go, tried to put pressure on it, couldn’t. Bo (Hughley) practiced all week at right (tackle), then had to go at left. Didn’t take many reps there. ”

Georgia’s injury-battered roster is a concern, with the head coach calling the team “a mash unit.”
