Georgia Predicted to Suffer Recruiting Blow to Big Ten Powerhouse

Since taking over as the Georgia Bulldogs' head coach in 2016, Kirby Smart has solidified the team as one of the best in college football, highlighted by two national championship wins.

Of course, one big factor behind the program's success is its strong ability to assemble some of the best high school recruiting classes every year.

The Bulldogs continued to do that for their 2026 class, which holds several talented players, including wide receiver Brady Marchese, who committed to Georgia on March 15.

However, they may not have him for much longer, because on Tuesday, On3's Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction for the Michigan Wolverines to flip his commitment.

Of course, this would be a huge development for both sides, as On3 Industry Rankings place Marchese as a four-star recruit, the No. 55 wide receiver, the No. 42 player in Georgia and the No. 353 player in the nation.

Last season, he recorded his best stats for Cartersville High School at the varsity level, appearing in 13 games, accumulating 44 receptions, 1,051 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Michigan and Georgia are also the only two teams Marchese has officially visited. He met with the Wolverines on May 30 and the Bulldogs on June 6.

If this prediction does become a reality, though, he would be joining a Michigan recruiting class that holds a total of eight commitments, ranking No. 5 in the Big Ten and No. 15 in the nation.

For Georgia and Smart, this possible loss would be softened by the fact that they have already landed several other wide receivers, including four-star Vance Spafford and Ryan Mosley (listed as ATH).
