'He's absolutely back in this football game' - Vols insider provides positive injury update for Tennessee ahead of Arkansas game

The bye week came at a perfect time for the Tennessee Vols.

Tennessee, like many teams in the SEC, is dealing with some injuries after the first month of the 2025 college football season.

The Vols, however, are starting to get some key players back (such as defensive lineman Jaxson Moi, who returned to action for the Vols against Mississippi State after missing the previous three games).

According to VolQuest's Austin Price, the Vols are getting another key player back for the matchup against the Arkansas Razorbacks this weekend.

Tennessee Vols expected to get junior defensive lineman Daevin Hobbs back for game against Arkansas Razorbacks

Price joined 104.5 The Zone's Ramon and Will on Tuesday and he noted that Vols junior defensive lineman Daevin Hobbs is expected to make his season debut against Arkansas on Saturday.

Hobbs suffered a foot injury before the start of the season, which caused him to miss Tennessee's first five games.

"Yes, he is back," said Price when asked about Hobbs' status. "Daevin Hobbs will be back. Now, Moi came back and he played a lot more than I thought he would. I thought he would be on somewhat of a pitch count in that first game. He was not. Is Daevin Hobbs (on a pitch count)? That may be more possible just because he's not played in two months, and just trying to get him back out there.

"But if you get him for 20 snaps, it's a huge deal. They rotate so much that playing him 20 snaps is okay. And so can you get him out there for 20 snaps? That would be big -- just to add to the defensive interior. But yeah, he's absolutely back in this football game."

Hobbs played in all 13 games for the Volunteers last season. Getting him back against Arkansas will give Tennessee added depth along the defensive line -- which could be critical in what's expected to be a high-scoring matchup.
