The Wisconsin Badgers have been closely working on developing a relationship with a top quarterback target who is reportedly down to a handful of programs.
Israel Abrams , a 2027 four-star quarterback, has been at the forefront of the Wisconsin Badgers search for a quarterback commitment in the class. Abrams is largely considered to be one of the better quarterback recruits in the class, currently ranked as the 102nd overall recruit and the ninth quarterback in the class. Abrams also holds a composite rating of 95, solidifying himself as far more than a borderline four-star recruit.
The talented quarterback currently holds offers from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee among others. Abrams previously stated that Purdue, Tennessee, Alabama, Iowa State, and Wisconsin were among the programs that were the most interested in his services early on.
On the field, the Montini Catholic quarterback is a dynamic play-maker with a variety of ways to dismantle an opposing defense. Abrams has an amazing frame for the position at 6-foot-4-inches and roughly 190 pounds with room to still add mass if necessary in the future. The quarterback can escape the pocket and make plays happen with his legs if necessary, but the arm talent of Abrams is what truly sets the quarterback apart from other recruits.
While Abrams broke down a list of programs most interested, the quarterback also has interests himself and Iowa State has been one such program. The quarterback was in attendance for the Cy-Hawk game last weekend that saw the Cyclones walk away with a 16-13 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes. Following the visit, Abrams received an expert prediction to land with the Cyclones, who are currently the presumed leader in his recruitment.
Another program that has been close to Abrams has been the Badgers, with coach Luke Fickell speaking personally with the quarterback during his last visit. Abrams was spotted rocking a Wisconsin Badgers towel during his last game and has spoken highly of his experiences with the program in the past. Both the Badgers and the Cyclones are working fast to land a commitment, which is likely the right decision due to the blossoming talent of Abrams.
The quarterback is arguably just starting to hit his true stride on the field and after another successful season, Abrams could see his ranking jump once again. Currently, the quarterback holds less than 20 scholarship offers and is on the cusp of fighting his way into the top 100 recruits in the country. More programs are bound to offer and work a way into the fold, forcing the Badgers and Cyclones to try to close on a commitment from Abrams early.
