The Georgia Bulldogs are one of several programs that's pursuing 2026 five-star running back Savion Hiter.

Hiter, 5-foot-11/200 lbs from Mineral, VA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 running back in the nation and the No. 17 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

The highly coveted recruit is scheduled to take an official visit to Georgia this upcoming weekend.

But unfortunately for the Bulldogs, it sounds like Georgia isn't currently viewed as a real threat to land Hiter.

"Right now, if I had to make a pick, it would be Tennessee (for Hiter)," said VolQuest's Austin Price on Tuesday during an appearance on 104.5 The Zone. "Michigan is not going to go away. To me, they're right there with the Vols. I mean, if it's percentages, it's half a point, right? It's very close. Ohio State's not out of it. They're running in the three hole, in my opinion, but they're still in it. And then I think Georgia is a distant fourth. I don't think that they're a real contender here, as we sit here in early June."

Recruiting is fluid and things can change in an instant. Maybe Georgia surges after Hiter's official visit this weekend -- it's certainly a possibility.

But for now, it sounds like the Bulldogs have a lot of ground to make up in the battle for the nation's top running back recruit.

Again, you can never rule out Kirby Smart and Georgia in any recruiting battle, but it's not looking good for the Bulldogs when it comes to landing Hiter.
