The Kentucky football team traveled to Athens Saturday afternoon to face off against the Georgia Bulldogs. As each loss piles up, so does the frustration of the fan base with the current product.
For the second consecutive week, the Wildcats entered the game unprepared and fundamentally outmatched. Their lack of preparation led to a disappointing 35-14 defeat against Georgia on Saturday afternoon.
The calls for Mark Stoops and his staff to be dismissed are increasing as the season goes on. Undisciplined play, low energy, and the challenges of the SEC are making the situation worse.
Know it's unfair to judge them relative to Georgia, but with today's loss Kentucky is now:

* 2-14 in its last 16 SEC games
* Also haven't won an SEC home game in over two calendar years
Mark Stoops may be the best coach in school history.

The last few seasons under Stoops have been tough for the Wildcat fan base. His last four seasons at Kentucky have resulted in records of 20-23 and 7-20 in the SEC, which isn’t promising. Losing 26 of the last 32 conference games typically results in a coach losing their job.
The noise is deafening, and as the losses accumulate, the fanbase will have more of a reason to count down to Basketball.
Saturday, we witnessed notable improvement on the offensive side of the ball. Critical issues remain, particularly in clock management and sustaining drives.
Late in the first half, Kentucky had a golden opportunity to close the gap to seven points. They squandered precious time and were forced to call a timeout, further eating into the clock.
This crucial mismanagement ultimately led to a missed field goal attempt, leaving them trailing 21-7 at halftime. It’s clear that addressing these shortcomings is vital for future success.
Cutter Boley emerged as a key contributor to the Wildcats’ offense. He effectively managed the game, demonstrated precision in his throws, and successfully minimized the significant challenges he faced the prior week in South Carolina.
Boley is a promising player around whom the team should consider building, regardless of whether it’s under the current coaching staff or a new head coach in the future.
Despite the bye week, issues remain significant; can they be resolved this season?
The main concern for the team right now is the performance of the defense. This was a key factor that established Stoops as one of the top defensive coordinators in the country and helped build a strong program in Lexington. Currently, the defense is not living up to that standard.
Georgia managed 6.2 yards per play, but the secondary couldn’t make a stop when they needed a play. They did manage a big interception in the first half that stalled a drive.
The big play is where the Wildcats are getting into trouble. Tackling is a key area of concern. Every SEC team the Wildcats have played this season has scored over 30 points against their defense.

You cannot win football games if you are giving up so many points, and the offense cannot sustain drives; it’s a recipe for disaster.
Kentucky Football is struggling; it’s uncertain whether the issues will be resolved this season or if the current coaching staff will return next season. There is also the possibility of a new staff under the current head coach, which could indicate a complete overhaul.
The fanbase is loud, the media is loud, and the noise will continue to grow bigger and stronger as this season follows its current path.
Desperate times in Lexington, Kentucky, and significant changes are needed one way or another.
