Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel stopped by Westlake High School in Atlanta, Georgia, a few days ago to check on priority wide receiver Travis Smith Jr. He's attracted several premium suitors over the past few months, and the Vols are very involved in his recruitment.

Smith Jr. is the No. 196 prospect in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports' Composite Rankings. He hauled in 34 passes for 587 yards and eight touchdowns during his junior season, ending his season in a big way. Georgia hosted him for a junior day recently, and several recruiting insiders put in expert predictions for Smith to commit to the Bulldogs.

Tennessee hosted a junior day, but Smith couldn't make it in due to inclement weather. The Vols don't have a wide receiver in the 2025 class but plan to add blue-chip talent. Southlake Carroll tight end Jack VanDorselaer was the first pass catcher to jump on board in this class, becoming the highest-rated 2025 commit for Tennessee until this point.

  • George MacIntyre, QB
  • Justin Baker, RB
  • Jack VanDorselaer, TE
  • Shamar Arnoux, CB
  • Dylan Lewis, CB
  • Tyler Redmond, CB
