CBS college football analyst Josh Pate said he believes Oregon has little reason to be worried for Saturday's home game against Washington during his live show on Thursday.
While breaking down several possible upset scenarios from this weekend, Pate went over the Ducks showdown with the Huskies, where Oregon will be looking for revenge for its last three losses to Washington.
A season ago, the Ducks were ousted from the College Football Playoff race by the Huskies, and Pate sees that as motivation for this week.
"Washington is at Oregon. Don't think it's gonna happen," Pate said. "It happened twice last year though, so I think they've got Oregon's attention."
And while Oregon has clinched a spot in the Big Ten championship game and all but sealed a trip to the College Football Playoff, Pate believes the Ducks will be more than motivated enough on Saturday.
"It means a lot. Let me just put your mind at ease. This game means a lot," Pate said. "Washington beat them twice last year. It doesn't matter if none of those players are there anymore, that helmet looks the same."
On Saturday, Oregon will look to end its three-game losing streak against the Huskies, its longest since 1993. If 2024's trends continue, the Ducks are likely to do so.
"Washington's 0-4 on the road this year, and three of those losses have come by 14-plus," Pate said. "Oregon's coming off a bye. The indicators are all pointing down for Washington so I'm going to take Oregon to win."
Oregon and Washington will face-off at Autzen Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. PST.
