Kalen DeBoer gives injury updates on Alabama players

Alabama football will return to conference play this Saturday, and head coach Kalen DeBoer provided updates on players that didn’t finish the game vs. Florida State.

Running backs Daniel Hill and EJ Crowell did not finish the game last Saturday, and DeBoer gave positive updates on them.

“EJ; we anticipate him to be good to go by weekend and stuff,” DeBoer said. “Daniel Hill, I would expect right now that he’d be good to go here this week.”

DeBoer did not give any specific details about what either running back is dealing with.

Running back AK Dear and wide receiver Noah Rogers put on uniforms and warmed up ahead of the Florida State game, but they did not play. However, he said they’ll be available.

“AK and Noah will be available,” DeBoer said. “Just really progressing well in practice, just being comfortable with them out there and the reps that they need to go out there at a high level. A little bit is them and how they feel and also with the reps that they can get to where they can go execute. We’ve got some other guys in positions right now that are getting the job done. I have no doubt that these guys can come in and help us, but they have to be at a level where they can fly around and do their thing as well.”

He added later in the press conference that inside linebacker Cayden Jones will be out for the season due to injury.

DeBoer also said that offensive lineman Chris Booker is not with the football team. DeBoer did not say anything other than that.

Alabama will host South Carolina in Tuscaloosa at 6 p.m. CT, and it will air on ESPN.
