Alabama football and Georgia battled it out in one of the best games of the 2024 football season. The game was highly anticipated for obvious reasons, and it lived up to the hype.
The Crimson Tide jumped out to a 28-0 lead over Georgia and led 30-7 at halftime. Alabama looked as if it was on pace to obliterate the Bulldogs, but Kirby Smart and his squad kept fighting, and they rallied to take the lead in the game 34-33 in the fourth quarter. Ryan Williams created magic almost immediately after the Bulldogs jumped out in front when he pulled in a pass from Jalen Milroe and spun his way into the endzone on a 75-yard touchdown play to regain the lead.
Alabama sealed up the win with a Zabien Brown interception. Kalen DeBoer looked back on the win during the SEC Coaches Teleconference.
“We competed till the end,” DeBoer said. “They did as well and did a nice job in the second half. We also kept playing, and we didn’t make our own breaks. There are a couple series that couldn’t get off the field at times. But in the end, we made the plays, too. We kept believing and kept fighting. I expect that from our football team with kind of where we’ve been at and how we’ve attacked practice, attacked the games. We’re in a fighter’s mentality mode right now too.”
Alabama and Georgia will look to have another memorable game filled with memorable moments next Saturday.
