Kalen DeBoer updates status of quarterback competition

Kalen DeBoer talked to media members earlier this week and gave a little insight into Alabama football’s quarterback battle and where it stands in its early stages. 

DeBoer and the Crimson Tide will have to go with a new QB1 in Tuscaloosa in 2025 with Jalen Milroe moving on to the NFL.

The battle is between three signal callers in Ty Simpson, Austin Mack and Keelon Russell. DeBoer feels the lack of meaningful playing experience in the room is apparent. 

“The biggest thing is there is not a lot of snaps that have been taken on a college football field,” DeBoer said. “But I also feel like the skill sets there, there are very strong strengths that they have.”

The quarterback battle between the three quarterbacks will continue to be one of the topics of discussion throughout the off-season.
