Keelon Russell Flashes The Ability Early Against ECU

Russell was pressured on the first drive of the game but showed the wiggle and broke away for a 23-yard run, taking a hard hit at the end and getting right back up which set the tone early for Alabama as they began to snowball into a runaway train.

He accounted for 100 all-purpose yards in the first quarter against ECU, stayed poised, didn’t force too much, and made big plays with the arm and obviously with the legs as you just saw. 

Sure he doesn’t look like a world beater right out of the gate, but that is just Alabama fans expecting too much as they usually do (no offense guys, expecting big things is a standard that’s earned), but we have to remember it is start one of what could be a great career.

It’s obviously early, but Keelon Russell is already showing signs that he is as advertised, and as the season goes on, he will add to the highlight reel and grow more into the best version of what we want him to be.
