The No. 12 Georgia Bulldogs defeated the No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers, 31-17, in Week 12, advancing to 8-2 on the season.
Following the hard-fought battle between the Vols and the Dawgs, UGA head coach Kirby Smart spoke with ESPN reporter Laura Rutledge from inside Sanford Stadium.
In the postgame interview with Rutledge, Smart once again emphasized just how hard it is to win in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), throwing subtle shade at the College Football Playoff committee in the process.
Going into Saturday, Georgia had signature wins over now-No. 20 Clemson and now-No. 3 Texas. Yet, the Bulldogs were on the outside looking in during last Tuesday's reveal of the CFP rankings.
After the game, Smart took the opportunity to send a message to the College Football Playoff committee after the Bulldogs' win against Tennessee and his statement received a ton of fanfare online.
"In a week when there's been a lot of conversation about your tough schedule, playing on the road, some of the struggles that you guys have had but also some of the positive moments – what do you think you showed the committee tonight?" asked Rutledge.
Smart replied, by saying he doesn't know what the committee looks for anymore.
"Well, I don't know," Smart replied. "Because I don't know what they look for. I really don't know what they look for anymore."
"I would welcome anybody in that committee to come down to this league and play in this environment," Smart said. "It's a tough place to play."

Smart added to his College Football Playoff plea during the postgame press conference, mentioning that the committee may not fully understand the quality of the Bulldogs.
"It's just the tale of each week," Smart said. "We're trying to be the cumulative, whole, really good quality team and not be on this emotional roller coaster that's controlled by people in a room somewhere that may not understand football like we do as coaches."
He continued to highlight the degree of difficulty in playing in the SEC, having to consistently compete against some of the highest-ranked teams in the country.
"We as coaches, look at people and say, 'What can we do better?" Smart added. "How do we get better?' I respect their decision. I respect their opinion. But I mean, it's different in our league."
The updated College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
Heading into Week 12, the Bulldogs had four SEC teams ranked ahead of them: Texas, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Alabama.
Georgia's now beaten two of them and lost to two of them.
Georgia now has three Top 25 wins, adding No. 7 Tennessee into the mix after their victory. Georgia will cap off the season with games against UMass and Georgia Tech.
