SMU is not having a good time against Penn State on Saturday.

SMU's offense can't do anything against Penn State's defense since quarterback Kevin Jennings has only thrown for 77 yards with three interceptions. It's led to a 28-point deficit for SMU coming out of halftime.

College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit has been following this game and tweeted that tried to warn everyone about how SMU may not be ready for the atmosphere and the crowd in Happy Valley.

"Tried to warn em about (not the weather) but the challenge of the atmosphere and crowd! 1st half offense: 128 total yards. 1-6 3rd down. 0-2 4th down. 69 yards passing with 3 int’s, 2 pick 6’s. It’s not these boys fault, (they're) just not ready for this! This game is unfortunately about to get ugly!" Herbstreit tweeted.

SMU has been behind the eight-ball because of its offense. The team will need Jennings to play a lot better in the third quarter if it wants to start a comeback.

The Mustangs qualified for the College Football Playoff after being the second-best team in the ACC during the regular season. They were within a long field goal of sending the ACC Championship Game to overtime after mounting a big comeback in the fourth quarter.

Time will tell if Herbstreit thinks a different team should've gotten in after he felt that way about the Indiana Hoosiers after they fell 27-17 to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday.

"Indiana was outclassed in that game. It was not a team that should've been on that field when you consider other teams that could've been there. It's no knock on Indiana, they had a great year but we've got to move forward with the playoff and hope that the committee does a better job of weighing who the best 12 are versus who is the most deserving because by golly, they got 11 wins but they didn't beat anybody," Herbstreit said on College GameDay

You can watch the second half on TNT.
