The Louisville Cardinals had a successful season. They accumulated a 9-4 record and went 5-3 in ACC play, but they were ultimately unranked in the final College Football Playoff rankings.
They also ended the year with a win on Tuesday, beating the Washington Huskies in the Sun Bowl. Under head coach Jeff Brohm, they have now earned a 1-1 record in bowl games.
The Cardinals also achieved that win without their season's leading passer, Tyler Shough, who opted out after declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Backup Harrison Bailey stepped in, completing 16-of-25 passes for 164 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
However, less than a week later, Bailey decided to enter the transfer portal for the third time in his collegiate career with one more year of eligibility.

He started his career as a four-star commit in the class of 2020 to the Tennesee Volunteers, but after two years, he made his way to UNLV for one season, where he completed 30-of-58 passes for 318 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
That lack of playing time led him to Louisville, but Bailey again found very little opportunity. He only passed for 278 yards and three touchdowns in his two years with the Cardinals.
Fortunately, Louisville may still be in good hands after receiving a commitment from four-star transfer quarterback Miller Moss, who's expected to take over as the team's starter in 2025.
Last year with USC, Moss completed 233-of-362 passes for 2,555 yards, 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
