Marcus Freeman Sends Clear Message to Jeremiah Smith Before National Championship

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Ohio State Buckeyes will soon meet in the College Football Playoff national championship game. 

Before the teams take field at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday, Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman spoke about the matchup against the Buckeyes. 

Freeman was asked about Ohio State freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who has led the Buckeyes to one of the most explosive offenses in the country. 

The Notre Dame head coach thinks Smith is a "dynamic football player," but he made it clear that the Fighting Irish have weapons as well.  

"He's a dynamic football player," Freeman said, per Dominic Miranda. "He's physically a big presence, but he can run, he can catch. So, you're going to have to do some different things to try and keep him off balance... But the other part of that is, we got good players too. We gotta do what we do. We're going to trust our guys to get the job done no matter what we call defensively."
