The strength of the Big Ten Conference has been roundly debated in recent days after critical comments were revealed by Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, who called out Big Ten teams Purdue and Nebraska along with the rest of the conference for its alleged lack of strength in comparison with the SEC.
On Thursday, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy shared a video of he and his company's staffers discussing coach Matt Rhule's Cornhuskers in a video that was viewed nearly 700 thousand times.
Portnoy used colorful language to describe coach Rhule's team's schedule for the 2025 season as fans reacted with intensity.
"Nebraska is embarrassing the whole Big Ten with the teams they're scheduling," Portnoy wrote on X Thursday.
Portnoy joined former Huskers star Will Compton as he examined his alma mater's schedule.
"HCU...I still don't know who they are," Portnoy said of Nebraska's Week 3 opponent, the Houston Christian Huskies.
"Houston Christian Huskies...Who the (expletive) are they?" Portnoy asked Compton.
"It's a W," the former Nebraska lineman said.
"You guys scheduled the Houston Christian Huskies? I've honestly never heard of that team, Portnoy added.
"We need some tune-up games," a defiant Compton said in response to Portnoy in the video.
The Huskies were previously known as the Houston Baptist Huskies until 2021.
They are one of three non-conference teams on Nebraska's schedule along with the Cincinnati Bearcats and Akron Zips.
"This isn't even a real team, Portnoy continued as he continued to ask about the situation in the video shown below.
