After two years in Tuscaloosa, running back Justice Haynes traded in his crimson and white for maize and blue back in January and Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore couldn't be happier he did.
Haynes toted the rock 19 times for 117 yards and two touchdowns in the Wolverines' 24-10 victory over Wisconsin and is off to quite the start since signing on with Big Blue.
Through five games, the Alpharetta, GA native has gained 537 yards on 66 carries with six scores as the junior continues to lead the way for Michigan as they climb up the Big Ten standings.
After the Wolverines' win, Moore talked about his Heisman hopeful's performance while also taking a pretty pointed shot at the RB's former team.
Catching up with FOX's Jenny Taft to discuss how Michigan was able to get it done on Saturday, Moore gave a ton of love to the junior ballcarrier while simultaneously letting the SEC power know they made a big mistake.
“I feel sorry for the team that let him go, but I’m glad he’s here,” Moore told Taft. “Another 100 yard rushing game, and he just continues to perform at a high level. And I don’t know if we had the 50 yard run we’ve had, that streak might be ended, but another 100 yard game, we’re proud of that.”
“First of all, I thought defensively [we were] outstanding,” the Wolverines coach continued. “The first drive, we just missed a lot. We missed the tackles there, and definitely adjusted offensively. The first quarter was good … by the end of the third quarter, into the fourth quarter, it looked like the type of ball we wanted to play."
"You know, we got a really good team. This is a really good football team, sound football team, but we gotta be better as we go into each game being played.”
Moore also talked about how impressed he's been with his true freshman QB who once again helped steer No. 20 Big Blue to victory.
“Yeah. I mean, just the poise right,” Moore said. “The poise he has when it’s not going the way you want it. It just does a really good job of staying together, staying the course and not panicking.”
"Ha – I'm elated. I feel sorry for the team that let [Justice Haynes] go, but I'm glad he's here."

Michigan is 4-1 to start the season with its only loss coming to the 18th-ranked Sooners on the road. Tougher tests are on the horizon though with games against USC and Washington over the next couple of weeks.
