Missouri Football Lands Second Running Back Transfer Nate Noel
USA TODAY Sports

Appalachian State sophomore Nate Noel marked the second transfer on Jan. 7, committing shortly after New Mexico State defensive tackle Sterling Webb. Noel is a 5-10 190-pound running back.

Noel was a composite 3-star recruit coming out of Northwestern High School in Miami, Fla. He was a 3-star transfer prospect according to 247Sports composite transfer rankings, ranked No. 223 in the country and No. 26 at the position.

Noel had a productive junior year, rushing for 834 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 4.8 yards per carry. He also recorded 86 receiving yards on 16 receptions.

Noel has also had a productive career, rushing for 3,076 throughout his four years in college so far, as well as 18 career touchdowns. He has also not fumbled once in his four-year career.

Noel has struggled with some injuries this past season, going out with a leg injury against Coastal Carolina and missing the following two games.

The newest Tiger is the second running back transfer of the offseason, joining former Georgia State back Marcus Carroll. Noel is a small, speedy running back, as Carroll runs with more strength and power.

The running back room is now reloaded after the departures of standout Cody Schrader and backup Nathaniel Peat. The Tigers have freshman Jamal Roberts and Tavorus Jones remaining, with only Roberts playing in the previous season.

The Tigers brought in 4-star running back Kewan Lacy as well, so the Tigers will have plenty of options to turn too while rushing the ball. Carroll and Noel have years of experience which should prime them to lead the team in carries.

The Tigers more than likely are done with transfers on the offensive side of the ball unless Missouri adds more help on the offensive line. They didn't neccesarily need too, but they have still managed to add talent to an already loaded offense.
