The Ohio State Buckeyes had more players drafted than any other college program back in April, with 14 members of their national championship team hearing their names called.
Now, those former Buckeyes — along with others who signed undrafted free-agent deals — are on the verge of starting their first NFL training camps.
However, three former Buckeyes may be holding out as camps get underway.
When the Houston Texans signed rookie WR Jayden Higgins to a fully guaranteed four-year deal as a second-round pick, the Cleveland Browns followed suit with former UCLA LB Carson Schwesinger. Those are the only two second-round picks who have signed so far. Ohio State had three players selected in the second round, and none of them may be on the field later this week.
The deadline for #Chargers rookies to report is upon us and second round WR Tre Harris is officially a holdout, sources say.

The Browns drafted RB Quinshon Judkins, whose off-field legal issues could complicate his ability to follow the path of the two fully guaranteed contracts . New England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson and Indianapolis Colts DE J.T. Tuimoloau are the other Buckeyes who could be holding out as training camp opens. It is vital for rookies to be on the field as training camp begins and they prepare for their first NFL seasons.
Without signed contracts, these players won’t risk injury — or millions of dollars. At some point, something will have to give in the standoff between second-round picks and their teams. Until then, 30 players across the league remain on holdout watch.
