One of the biggest pieces to the Texas Longhorns' 2026 recruiting class is Dia Bell, whom Rivals ranks as a five-star player and the No. 2 quarterback in the nation.

As the offseason progresses, coach Steve Sarkisian continues to add talent. On Tuesday, he received a commitment from five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, beating out Georgia, Oregon and Clemson.

Once Atkinson announced the decision, Rivals immediately showcased where Texas' 2026 class ranked against other teams, revealing it'd jumped five spots and now ranks No. 9 in the nation.

It's certainly a good spot to already be in, and it drew a reaction from Bell, who made sure everyone knew the Longhorns have more moves to make, saying, "And not done yet! #HookEm."

Atkinson becomes their third five-star commit in this year's cycle, joining Bell and EDGE Richard Wesley, and even though they may not make any more additions of this size, there are still several talented players up for grabs, meaning Bell could be right.

As of now, the On3 recruiting prediction machine gives the Longhorns the best chance to land three-star tight end Keawe Browne (100%) and three-star EDGE Calvin Carter (14.3%) and the second-best for four-star running back Derrek Cooper (35.3%).

If it continues at a similar pace, Texas could be working its way toward its fifth consecutive top-10 recruiting class dating back to 2022, which also features a 2025 class that was No. 1 in the nation after landing 25 commitments.
