History suggests that’s not always a comfortable place for the rest of college football.

If DeBoer’s third season produces the offensive breakthrough many in Tuscaloosa are hoping for, Saban’s prediction could age well. Alabama may not be the preseason darling it once was, but overlooking the Crimson Tide has rarely been a winning strategy.
