Ohio State took their fourth straight loss to Michigan on the chin just a couple of months ago, but that is easily forgiven since they just hoisted a National Championship trophy.
Looking back on this season, that loss may be the best thing that could have happened to Ohio State. The run that the Buckeyes went on after that 13-10 loss is one that will be talked about forever. Wins over Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame are nothing to scoff at.
Now that Day has shown he can win the big game and take it all home, he needs to find a way to get back to beating Michigan. According to oddsmakers, Ohio State will get back to doing that next season.
FanDuel has Ohio State as a -9.5 favorite over Michigan for November’s game that will be played in Ann Arbor, Michigan. So, oddsmakers currently think the Buckeyes will be a team that is two scores better than Michigan next season. Sherrone Moore is 1-0 as the head coach of Michigan against Ohio State and Day is yet to beat him since he took over for Jim Harbaugh. Next season, these will be two very different teams when they match up. Still, oddsmakers are rolling with the team that is coming off of a National Championship.
Michigan finished their season with an 8-5 record after winning the last National Championship. After the big win over Ohio State on Nov. 30, Michigan went on to beat Alabama in their bowl game.
No matter the records, it is a battle every time these two teams come together for The Rivalry. Don’t expect the 2025 game to be any different. Ohio State can now celebrate their National Championship for a bit, but spring football will be here before we know it.
