Unless you've been living under a rock, you're likely aware there's a massive college football season opener taking place on Aug. 30 between the Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Longhorns are ranked No. 1 in the preseason Coaches Poll while the Buckeyes fall just behind at No. 2. It marks the first time in history that the top two seeds will meet in a season opener.

The matchup will take place in Columbus and will feature several of the nation's most talented players for the 2025 college football season. According to The Athletic's Bruce Feldman, Texas left tackle Trevor Goosby is one of those players.

Goosby appeared on Feldman's annual 'Freaks List' for 2025. Texas' starting left tackle this season, replacing former three-year starter Kelvin Banks Jr., landed at No. 17 overall on the ranking that featured 101 players.

"Once ranked as the 34th best offensive tackle prospect in the 2023 recruiting class, Goosby has proven to be a terrific evaluation," Feldman said. "As a redshirt freshman last season, he started two games, one at left tackle and the other at right. PFF gave Goosby an 80.8 pass blocking grade for the season, which was higher than Cameron Williams, Texas’ starter at right tackle, although the freshman had a much smaller sample size."

While Goosby is certainly deserving of appearing on the ranking, it's shocking that no other Longhorns were included. Linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and pass rusher Colin Simmons have an argument to hold a spot on the list.

The Longhorns appear confident in Goosby's future at the position as much as Feldman. However, Texas suffered significant injury news on Monday as potential right tackle starter Andre Cojoe suffered a season-ending knee injury. True freshman Brandon Baker is now the clear-cut favorite to take over at right tackle following Cameron Williams' departure.
