Pair of Alabama football greats on 2026 Hall of Fame ballot

A pair of former Alabama football players are on the ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame class of 2026.

The list of names on the ballot was released by the National Football Foundation.  The list included 79 former player and coaches. The two former Crimson Tide standout players listed in the 2026 ballot were Demeco Ryans and Mark Ingram Jr.

Ingram had a standout career at Alabama from 2008 to 2010, becoming one of the most celebrated running backs in Crimson Tide history. The Hackensack, New Jersey native rushed for 3,261 yards and 42 touchdowns in 39 games while becoming the Crimson Tide’s first Heisman Trophy recipient as a sophomore in 2009.

Ryans had a dominant career in Tuscaloosa from 2002 to 2005, finishing fifth all-time in total tackles with 309. The All-American linebacker was also the 2005 SEC defensive player of the year and the 2006 Cotton Bowl MVP.

Ingram and Ryans will now have to wait until early to2026 to know if they were selected to the 2026 College Football Hall of Fame Class.
