PFF Backs Stud Auburn Football Transfer for Breakout Season

In this wild and occasionally wonderful college football transfer portal era, a game-changing talent is merely one phone call -- and a gigantic NIL contract -- away.

Hugh Freeze's Auburn Tigers have taken this under advisement as they retool for a bounce-back 2025 season.

And the experts are increasingly taking notice.

As Max Chadwick of Pro Football Focus wrote this week, PFF's analytics experts are backing a top transfer wide receiver to make a major impact after two enticing seasons at Georgia Tech.

Welcome to the Plains, Eric Singleton Jr.

Listed at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, Singleton arrives at Auburn flashing serious deep threat potential, and the argument goes far beyond merely the eye test. He recorded 56 receptions for 754 yards and three touchdowns in 2024 after logging 714 yards and 6 TD catches the previous season as a freshman.

But it gets better. As PFF's Chadwick writes, "His 664 receiving yards on deep balls since 2023 lead all returning Power Four receivers."

The numbers truly don't lie.

Although, admittedly, he does pass the eye test nice too.

This stud wideout's talent is notable outside the college ranks, too. According to their latest update on May 8, the speedy Singleton ranks No. 24 overall on PFF's 2026 NFL Draft board despite boasting one additional year of college eligibility for 2027. Right on cue, CBS Sports concurs, recently anointing a Douglasville, Georgia native as a first-round pick.

After a 5-7 campaign in 2024 -- the Tigers' fourth in a row -- expect Coach Freeze and newly-arrived quarterback transfer Jackson Arnold to put in major work to feature the uniquely lethal talents of this former Ramblin' Wreck.

Auburn football opens its 2025 season on the road against the Baylor Bears on Aug. 29.
