The No. 5 seed Texas Longhorns face off against No. 8 Ohio State on Friday in the Cotton Bowl. The winner of the College Football Playoff Semifinal game will face off against No. 7 Notre Dame on January 20 for the national title.

The battle between Texas and Ohio State should be a good one, especially with a pair of star quarterbacks and both teams riding high after thrilling wins in the Quarterfinal round.

However, one big talking point has been the future of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. While Ewers has been garnering NFL draft hype, rumors have swirled about him being courted heavily by college teams if he does enter the transfer portal.

At the end of December, it was reported that Ewers was being offered $6 million in the portal.

Ahead of the Cotton Bowl, Ewers addressed those comments and made sure to show his focus on the game.

"You know I think that's selfish of me to be able to be thinking about it or looking at that," Ewers said. "I owe my teammates the best version of me right now. I can't be looking forward. I'll trip on the rock that's sitting right in front of me. I've got to be locked in on what's right here."

While Ewers didn't say yes or no to the reported offer, he made sure to highlight his focus on what's ahead of him.

Right now, it's a chance to head to the national title game.

Ewers finished the regular season with 2,665 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions, although he missed a couple of games early in the season due to an abdominal strain.

In the College Football Playoff run, Ewers has thrown for 524 yards with four touchdowns and a pair of interceptions, with three of those scores coming in the double-overtime win over No. 4 Arizona State at the Peach Bowl.

At this moment, Ewers isn't showing his hand regarding the transfer portal rumors. Instead, he is just worried about trying to defeat No. 8 Ohio State and send the Longhorns to the national championship game.
