The Auburn Tigers had quite the transfer portal haul this offseason, finishing seventh in the country on On3 Sports.

Auburn brought in top talent like Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Jackson Arnold, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets receiver Eric Singleton Jr., and Virginia Tech Hokies offensive tackle Xavier Chaplin.

Whether or not the transfers can adjust to the style of the SEC has yet to be seen. Head coach Hugh Freeze does not have a winning season at Auburn under his belt.

The program caught some flak from "680 The Fan's" John Michaels, who claimed the Tigers wished they were Georgia Tech right now.

"So, a couple of years ago, when Jahmyr Gibbs went from Tech to Alabama, you understood that," Michaels said. "You're going to Alabama, you're going to compete for a national title. Georgia Tech's better right now. Auburn fans, you can yell at me all you want. You wish you were Georgia Tech right now. You wish you had Haynes King and Jamal Haynes and some of the guys you had."

The Yellow Jackets are in their third season under head coach Brent Key. Key has led the program to consecutive bowl game appearances and is 14-12 at Georgia Tech.

The Yellow Jackets bring back key starters like quarterback Haynes King and running back Jamal Haynes in 2025.

While the results have not been there for Auburn yet under Hugh Freeze, ESPN predicted the Tigers would make the postseason. ESPN believed the Tigers were capable of making either the Birmingham Bowl or Gasparilla Bowl in 2025.

Freeze has had success in recruiting despite coming into the year with an 11-14 record. He secured top-10 classes in 2024 and 2025 via On3 Sports.

He has yet to earn a commitment from a five-star prospect in the 2026 class, but Rivals' Steve Wiltfong predicted a change coming soon. He predicted Auburn would land five-star safety Bralan Womack.

Auburn opens the year with the Baylor Bears on August 29.
