Don't look now, but the Florida Gators are getting hot on the transfer portal trail. A day after earning hard commits from three-star offensive lineman Chancellor Campbell and four-star athlete Justin Williams, Florida landed another high-end offensive talent.
On Tuesday, three-star tight end recruit Kekua Aumua of the 2026 class made allegiances with Florida, committing to the program through On3 Sports. Aumua possesses elite size, standing at six-foot-five and weighing 255 pounds.
Alongside Florida, he holds offers from the North Carolina Tar Heels, Washington Huskies, Arizona State Sun Devils, BYU Cougars, Illinois Fighting Illini, Louisville Cardinals, Memphis Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons, among others.
Aumua will conclude his high school career at IMG Academy, having originally played at Kahuku High School in Hawaii. With the commitment of Aumua, Campbell, and Williams in the past two days,
Florida now has seven hard commits in the 2026 class. Quarterback Will Griffin remains the most intriguing recruit, holding a four-star status and throwing for 24 touchdowns against four picks in 2024.
Florida's growing 2026 recruiting class continues to impress, but they will not be in uniform for the upcoming season. Last year, the Florida Gators went 8-5, their best record under third-year head coach Billy Napier. They will also usher in the seventh-ranked 2025 recruiting class, per 247Sports. The Gators will open the season at home with the LIU Sharks in late August, They will then host the South Florida Bulls before a road contest against the LSU Tigers.
