Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders sat down for an extended interview with Jim Wyatt with the Tennessee Titans ahead of the East-West Shrine Bowl.
The 22-year-old signal-caller announced he would not participate in practices or the college football all-star game.
When the subject of Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward came up, Sanders discussed the kinship with his training partner.
"It is really good we're going into this situation together," Sanders said of Ward. "We're all family at the end of the day. We don't look at each other any other way. He feels he's the best, and I feel I'm the best. We play the same position, so it's just between the decision-makers.

So, what if the Titans picked him with the No.1 pick?

"Some people like him, and some people like me. It's all on preference. We're just thankful we're at least able to compete with each other, and keep playing."
Sanders added he will be a difference-maker at the next level.
"I know I am the most guaranteed risk you can take," Sanders said. "I just know I am going to change a franchise and be happy to be the leader of a team."
Sanders won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2024.
In a recent NFL mock draft by Athlon Sports' Luker Easterling, Sanders was selected at No. 6 by the Las Vegas Raiders.
