Shedeur Sanders Makes Opinion On NFL Draft Prank Extremely Clear

The Shedeur Sanders slide ended on Saturday when the Cleveland Browns selected him in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Sanders was the second quarterback the Browns selected during the draft. They took Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the third round and now have a quarterback room of Sanders, Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, and Joe Flacco.

Deshaun Watson is still on the team but is expected to miss the entire 2025 season after rupturing his Achilles for a second time after he was recovering from the first surgery.

Before Sanders got picked, he was prank-called by two college kids pretending to be New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. It was a childish act, but Sanders isn't letting it bother him.

"It really didn't have any impact on me. I don't feed into negativity or that stuff. It is what it is. Of course, I felt it was a childish act, but everyone does childish things here and there," Sanders said.

A couple of Browns fans loved that response from Sanders.

"Love this response from Shedeur. The response to the prank call on here has been laughable," one fan tweeted.

"I love this kid and how he’s handling himself after a rough weekend," another tweet read.

Sanders is ready to work and ready to show Browns fans that he can be part of the team's short and long-term future. He helped Colorado win nine games in 2024 and finished the season with 4,134 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

The Browns missed the playoffs last season and only won three games after winning 11 games and making the playoffs in 2023.
